Impulse Sale

My other favorite digital game distributor besides Steam is Impulse. In fact, I like certain things about them better than Steam (particularly in the area of DRM). Unfortunately, right now Impulse doesn't have as big a game selection, but that's slowly starting to change. Anyway, Impulse has sales now and then too, so I thought I'd highlight those as well.

With Impulse, you can go to the website and hit the On Sale link on the left to see everything currently on sale.

Right now they've got a couple games on sale.

Kudos 2 - $6 (reg $20) - This is a... kind of life simulation/game. You create a character and go through days making decisions, trying to make friends, get promoted, etc. Kind of a Sims game, but without the 3D environments. Very curious concept. There is a demo.

KeepSafe - $10 (reg $30) - This seems to be backup/archive software. Yeah, Impulse sells some utilities in addition to games. I don't know much about it, but since Stardock is the authors, it's probably decent (if you need that kind of software).

TangleBee - $4 (reg $20) - This is a fairly interesting puzzle game. The basics are that you try to untangle a network of crossed lines while various other things are going on. There is a demo.

Gish - $4 (reg $20) - This is a pretty cool physics-based platform game. You are a ball of tar trying to work your way through the various levels. Pretty clever ideas. There is a demo.

Astral Masters - $4 (reg $20) - This is a turn based, fantasy themed card game (kind of like Magic the Gathering). You can play against the AI, or online. There is a demo.

They actually have a couple other games on sale right now, but those have been up for a while, so they probably will stay that way for a bit. The sale on these particular games are through the 18th.

Of these, I'm tempted by Gish, and possibly TangleBee, but I may pass just because there have been an awful lot of sales on games lately...
