On my list

I was looking around the room for inspiration on what to blog about this evening. Nothing much was coming to mind. To me, that's the sign of a fairly good day. Nothing particularly noteworthy happened, which means I'm feeling pretty laid back.

I did have some things suddenly come together in my current project at work. All of the sudden, some things I've been working on for a while just started getting finished up and I can finally see a bunch of the pieces all in action together. Kind of nice!

From where I sit at my computer, I can look over to my left and see my great big stack of books to read. There's 39 books on the stack! Of course, 12 of those I'm waiting on until I can get other books in the series. And about a dozen are low priority ones that I'd like to get around to, but it'll probably take a while. Still, that's a lot of reading to do! And that doesn't count the 4 roleplaying books I've got lined up to read through (in reality, there are waaaay more than 4 of those to read, but at this point I'm despairing of catching up on the RPG books, so I'm only counting the most recent ones).

Right now I'm reading through a trilogy by Stephen Baxter (a sci-fi author I'm fond of). It's pretty interesting so far. I'll probably have a review up on the first one in another day or so.

Not really much else going on around here, so it must be time to fire up steam and play some TrackMania. Can't... stop... Tongue

Re: On my list

As I wrote the e-mail about paperback books I have to pass on or take back to a thrift store, I realized that I read a lot! I think there were around 15 books in that list, and that I've read most of those in the past 3-6 months, and probably more that have already gone to the thrift store. I don't have as big a stack as Kheldar awaiting my attention - as I look up at the stack, I count only 7, and that doesn't include the one waiting on the living room window sill next to the recliner. The last one I read,a nd the one I'm currently reading, and the next, are all ones Karen thought I might like, then back to my stack!

Of course, I have more time to read than Kheldar!
