Golden Anvil

That title is Og-speak for the name of tonight's adventure: "We Go Hunting". This is the caveman game where everyone only has 3-8 words they are allowed to use off a list of 18. You can explain what you are doing, but all conversation must be in character, using only your list of words.

The game started off with everyone deciding that the clan was low on food, so they were going to go find some food. A run in with a "big big thing" left one of their members (derk) unconscious, so they dropped him off back at the cave, and brought derk's son (derk derk) along for more food hunting. After more looking around for food, they came back to the cave again, and found that derk was missing.

Going out and climbing the lone tree (big stick) down by the river, they spotted smoke coming from the rival clan over on the other side. With some effort they got across the river and went to investigate. They got to the other clan's cave by nightfall, and saw many clan members gathered around a fire outside the cave. Two of the party started pushing big rocks down the slope, which scattered the cavemen around the fire. This went well until one of the pushers accidentally pushed derk derk down the slope too.

Finding himself inside the circle of angry cavemen (who were looking out into the darkness to find the attackers), derk derk went into the cave where he found his father near the back, knocked out. He picked up his dad, being guarded by one of the other members of the party, while the third grabbed some food from the rival clan's stash.

Unfortunately, just as they got out of the cave, another big boulder came crashing down on top of them. Poor derk derk and the one carrying the food were hit by the boulder. This knocked out derk derk, but fortunately, the other was made of tougher stuff. The group made their way through the confusion back to the river. There, one was able to swim across, but the others, burdened by derk, or derk derk, or their lack of swimming ability were stuck on wrong side.

Fortunately, one of the party got a brilliant idea of how to make a raft. So they moved up towards the forest where a raft was assembled. As they were starting across, loud thumping sounds started coming closer to the one who'd made it across by swimming. She hid.

About the time the raft got across, the thumping revealed itself to be made by the footsteps of a big smelly bang thing (think bipedal, with tiny arms and big teeth)! derk derk started banging some rocks together to try to make a fire. Unfortunately, this attracted the attention of the big smellyl bang thing, which began approaching.

Now, one of the party was a grunter. For some reason, sometimes when this character type starts grunting, strange fortunate circumstances happen. Well, she'd been grunting all night to no avail, but this time something happened. The big smelly bang thing tripped over the raft, which it hadn't seen, and fell face first into the fire that'd just gotten started. Blinded, it stumbled off and ran smack into the big stick (remember, the lone tree by the shore). It fell down unconscious.

With much rejoicing, the group killed the beast and bringing derk and derk derk back to the cave were able to provide much food for the clan.

Much fun was had by all.
