Someone modified the main PmWiki page of my wiki site. That's the base page for all the documentation. They added about 50 porn links. So, I did a rollback on that page and then added in a write password for the PmWiki group (something I'd forgotten to do before).
That's an amazingly easy fix, which in my book indicates that the "hacker" was not exactly someone with a whole ton of smarts. Ah well, it amused me for a bit.
Now I'm just trying to decide if it's worth tracking down his IP (which should be in my server logs)...
We got hacked!
More Info:
From looking at server logs and talking to others, apparently this is a type of bot that's becoming more common. It found my page with a google search that detected the PmWiki part of the url. It then popped over and modified the page.
Cute.

Wow. that's pretty clever, actually. Nice catch. Wouldn't have wanted you to get into trouble with your provider or anything.

We got hacked!
You know, I keep waiting to read the news story of some outraged programmer getting vingance by writing a little virus that only targets URLs that can be found by googling "porn" "XXX" "Naughty Schoolgirls" and "Bill Gates." I'm sure it's coming.
Veni, Vidi, Volo in domum redire.
We got hacked!
Is that an "OR" search or an "AND" search?
*shudder*
We got hacked!
Now THAT was an evil thought. How do I scrub my Mind out with soap?
