Let's get things going

Well, with the new year firmly arrived, it's time to get back in the habit of writing blog entries. My objective is to have 2-3 posts per week. We'll see how long that keeps up.

It's been a nice vacation, and I'm not particularly looking forward to going back to work. Mostly I've had the chance to read, watch some movies, and play some games.

Still, I've found some time to begin preparations for a roleplaying game I've been planning to play with Sareth. It'll be a mixed political/action game where Sareth plays a prince who is trying to recover his birthright. I'll be using the Reign system, which I recently discovered. This system has rather interesting rules to handle characters who lead or are part of a large organization.

In order to properly prepare for the game I've found myself needing to detail some families with whom Sareth's character will be interacting. So, I decided to take the opportunity to write a tool that I've thought about for some time. This program (when finished) will automatically generate families of characters, completely with a variety of events in their background. I've already made some good progress, and hopefully by the end of the day I'll have something basic working.

Greetings! I subscribed. That doesn't

Greetings! I subscribed. That doesn't mean I'll actually speak much, though. And I still have to figure out how to make it automatically tell me when someone's said something. Out of curiosity, just how long have you been reading Paladins by Joel Rosenberg? At least since July, if your posts are any indication... Wink

Hey! Nice to see you here.

It looks like I started reading it on the 16th of Dec. The signature on all posts/comments shows what it's currently set to, not what it was when it was written.

I still need to tweak the RSS feeds a little before you'll want to try and use the automatic notification stuff, so don't worry about it quite yet.
