It's pretty reasonably secure. I keep the server itself pretty up to date. In fact, I just updated the forum software the other day too. In addition, I really don't forward very many ports to the server through my firewall. That helps reduce vulnerabilities.
Likely updateing phpbb is the best thing to keep it safe. Sareth's prolly remembering the clanlord sentinel (also running phpbb) being taken out twice in recent months.
Speaking of ClanLord, there's now a java client, runs quite nicely on a PC. It's not as full featured as the Mac Client, but I can comfortably play CL from work w/ it
There's also development of a native windoze client, taking a bit longer but when done should have the same features as the Mac client. If anyone's curious about toying w/ the Java Client and a character, let me know, I have a rather unknown yet well studied character I'd be willing to share for demo purposes

Interesting, but... I'm already playing City of Heroes. And when I feel like I need a break from that I'll be back to World of Warcraft... No room for another MMORPG.
Server "up" time
Now that aint shabby.
How secure is it? It'd be a pity to have a hacker ruin such a nice run...
