I'm sure I could get the answer from phpbb site, but I'd like to hear it from someone I know. How difficult was it? What steps did you have to go through? I'm currently at 2.0.15 and it suggests I upgrade to 2.0.17. I'm using phpbb as a mission critical knowledgebase internally only, I'm not interested in any down time
I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it went.

The difficulty will depend on exactly what mods (and how many) you have installed. I upgraded from 2.0.14. I used the patch upgrade. I've got... perhaps a half dozen mods installed. Fortunately, none of my mods conflicted with the patch, so the patch applied with no problems, and I had a total down time of... perhaps 3 minutes. It was very easy to do.
If the patch process fails, then you have to copy in the files that have changed from one version to the next and then reapply your mods.
So...since I have no mods, I should be in good shape. I chose not to install any mods, since I haven't had the opportunity to play w/ phpbb in a test setting for very long. They wanted something quick here and I gave it to em...they love it, so I'm happy

You should have no problems at all. It's very easy, even for me...
