I've changed my signature to include the NaNoWriMo tracking meter. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit the XFire tracker and this tracker both in the signature (darn size limit).
You can visit my profile page at the link below. That includes a preview of my "novel".
I suspect that Kent and Sareth will be particularly interested in this writing. It is set in Fangor, and takes place around the same time as the Jannot campaign. It'll be written up in a journal style, and might be somewhat dry/boring/bad reading, since the focus here is on quantity, not quality. Nevertheless, if there is some interest, I can post updates as I write.
Just remember... rough draft, no editing, little advanced planning, likely sucky...
I've heard of NaNo... I thought briefly (very briefly) about diving in, but I'm so wrapped up in trying to boot strap my art to adequate levels, it's about all I do these days...
Thanks! I've wanted to do it the past couple years, but I always forget about it until it's already started. This year I decided to just do it anyway even if I'm late. That way I'll have a better chance of remembering in time next year.
I think I'm going to aim for a pro-rated word count since I started so late. That means shooting for 36,667 words instead of 50k.
In order to hit that number, I need 1,667 words each day. In order to reach the 50k goal I'd need 2273 words each day.
Last night I wrote just over 1800 words, so we'll see where I actually hit.
Well, about 1650 words tonight. That's enough to stay even on my prorated goal. I'm hoping I can get enough work done this weekend to see if I can start catching up to the full 50k goal. We'll see.
Word shows that I've had the document file open for just over 4 hours total now. That's a little over 850 words an hour allowing a little time for a couple of the interruptions I've had. At that rate I've got about another 55 hours of work to do in the next 20 days... assuming I don't get inspired and write more quickly... or get writer's block and fizzle out...
Hmm... we'll see. Either way I'm fairly pleased with what I've got so far. It'll definitely make a nice addition to Fangorian canon.
Hm. looks interesting, but All I can read on the site is around 350 words - the intro. Are you yet to post the other portions or am I revealing an inability to operate their website? :?
Nope, it's not you. The site will only host an except (around 2000 words). So, that's just my introduction. I'll be putting together a web page on my server (probably today) with a link to download the complete Word file or .txt file. I'll post here when it's up.

I'll update the files after every writing session.

Arg... writer's block. Time to take a break.
It's not too late to start...
Just to be helpful, there are a couple errors I'd point out:
beginning of chapter 2
I spent some time
duties were NOT enough
and one at the end of chapter 4
than I had planned
Pretty interesting stuff buddy! I'm really curious to read more!
